What are the Event Registration and Cancellation Policies? 

Registration and Cancellation 
By registering for and/or attending a Florida Collectors Association (“FCA”) event, you acknowledge that you have read,understand and agree to Florida Collectors Association’s policies listed on this page and included elsewhere on its website and during the registration process, located at https://www.fla-collectors.com/2024_annual_conference.php including, without limitation, ACA’s Terms of Use Agreement, ACA’s Privacy Policy, ACA’s Copyright Policy and Reprint Requests, ACA’s Logo Use Policy, and ACA’s Antitrust and Anti-Harassment Policies.

If you decide to cancel after registration, a full refund will be provided for cancellations received by Florida Collectors Association in writing no later than September 17, 2024. No refunds will be granted for cancellations received by Florida Collectors Association on or after September 18, 2024. Registrations may not be transferred to another individual unless approved by Florida Collectors Association. No refunds will be given for no-shows. 

Florida Collectors Association reserves the right to cancel any meeting.  

Photos and Recording Notice
By registering for and/or attending a Florida Collectors Association event, you authorize Florida Collectors Association to use your image and/or voice in any promotional or informational material produced by or on behalf of Florida Collectors Association. This includes, without limitation, video, audio and photographs which may be distributed on the Florida Collectors Association website, event recap videos, future event promotions, photo libraries, social media, and email. 

Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability 
By registering for and/or attending this event and/or attending any functions or sessions listed as on the event agenda, including those listed as “[Interest Group]” events, you acknowledge and agree that Florida Collectors Association (“FCA”) is not responsible for any injury, claim, liability or other cause of action of any kind based upon or resulting from your participation in the event. You assume all risk and accept sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind (“Claims”), that you may experience or incur in connection with attending the event. Additionally, you release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Florida Collectors Association and its affiliates, and their officers, directors, managers, employees, agents, shareholders, members, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”), of and from any such Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs, or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. 

Registrant and/or attendee acknowledges and understands that functions and sessions listed as an “[Interest Group]” on the event agenda are not hosted by Florida Collectors Association, but rather are hosted solely by attendees and/or other third parties. Registrant and/or attendee agrees that Florida Collectors Association shall have no liability in connection with any such events.

COVID-19 Policy for In-Person Events
Although COVID-19 remains with us despite the formal end to the national health emergency, we have reached a point in the pandemic where we possess tools and resources to better protect ourselves and our communities from infection and spread. For that reason, Florida Collectors Association expects attendees to take responsibility themselves for following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other public health agencies on measures to reduce infection from and spread of COVID-19.

Florida Collectors Association cannot be held liable for COVID-19 cases arising because of event attendance. By registering for and/or attending an Florida Collectors Association event, you (a) acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that you may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death, (b) voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any Claims that you may experience or incur, and (c) hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Florida Collectors Association and the other Released Parties from Claims of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. 

In addition to all other policies relating to your attendance at a Florida Collectors Association event, you agree to comply with all COVID-19-related safety procedures that may be implemented by Florida Collectors Association or Cheeca Lodge & Spa (“Hotel”), or that may be required by law or recommended by public health agency,in order to protect as much as possible the health and safety of all event attendees. 

Antitrust and Anti-Harassment Policy  
Florida Collectors Association holds its members to the highest standards of professional conduct. These standards apply equally to all event participants. Florida Collectors Association expects all event participants to act responsibly and ethically when interacting with others at events. Florida Collectors Association follows ACA’s Antitrust and Anti-Harassment Policies. If you have questions or concerns about possible non-compliance at an event, please inform a member of Florida Collectors Association’s staff. 

Registrant Information-Sharing 
Florida Collectors Association may provide personal registrant information, including, without limitation, the names, addresses, phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses of attendees and their guests, to Hotel, and Florida Collectors Association may receive personal guest reservation details from Hotel for event-related meeting planning and contract fulfillment purposes. Your registration information will be shared with exhibitors and sponsors of the event as noted when you register. Florida Collectors Association may also contact you regarding your event participation or Hotel stay based on registration and reservation information received. You agree to receive communications from Florida Collectors Association, which may include marketing and promotional emails regarding Florida Collectors Association’s products and services. You can change your preferences at any time.
